Enology line by BioSystems It is our pleasure to announce the launching of two new reagents for the analysis of histamine and ascorbic acid, specifically designed to satisfy all winemaker’s needs. Ascorbic acid is an antioxidant substance present in the grape at low concentrations (30 to 60 mg/L). BioSystems reagent is supplied in a 90 mL presentation and a standard is included in the kit. It is easy to use and the working reagent has a good stability (10 days). These properties convert the reagent into the best choice for the determination of this labile substance through an enzymatic, sensitive and efficient method. Histamine is a biogenic amine formed by the action of certain microorganisms over the amino acid histidine. While there are specific regulations in the maximum concentrations allowed in fish, in wines there is no clear regulation, although in some countries it is recommended not exceeding 10 mg/L. BioSystems reagent is ready for use and stable until the expiration date and it is an excellent, sensitive and rapid enzymatic method to control this substance.
